Hold the Line
Standing firm for the Constitution, so our children inherit the freedoms our God intended
About Tracie
I’m Tracie Halvorsen. I’m asking for the chance to serve you—as a neighbor, a wife, and a trained paralegal who cares deeply about what is happening to the people of Utah.
For years, I’ve sat across the table from ordinary people who felt powerless after government agencies overreached. I’ve helped them file lawsuits and push back when the system seemed stacked against them.

Seeing that up close changed me. It convinced me that the law should be a shield for regular people, not a weapon for the powerful. That’s what Hold the Line means to me: a promise that I will stand my ground for you, not for insiders or special interests.
I’m running for the Utah Senate because I want to stand up for our freedoms and look out for everyday families like my own. I’m asking for a chance to roll up my sleeves and go to work for you. If you send me there, I’ll listen, be honest with you, and remember that the seat belongs to the people of this district—I’m just the one you’ve asked to sit in it for a while and defend our rights.
My plan to Hold the Line
Safeguard
Guard constitutional rights: speech, religion, self‑defense, due process, and parental authority.
Shine Light
Expose overreach: shine a light on waste, secrecy, and abuses of power at every level.
Strengthen
Empower citizens: equip families, churches, and small businesses to push back and be heard.
Support
Protect local control: keep decisions as close to the people as possible, not in distant bureaucracies.

Issues that deserve focus
Standing firm as constitutional watchmen—defending the God‑given rights of every citizen, limiting government overreach, and preserving liberty for the next generation starts here
Honoring our Constitutional Rights
Our Constitution was never meant to be ignored or bent to fit the politics of the moment
As your senator, I’ll look at every bill with one question in mind: does this protect people, or does it open the door for the government to be used against them? I will stand against laws and mandates that chip away at our freedom to worship, speak, defend our families, or guide our children’s education, and I’ll call out any creeping weaponization of government when I see it.
Our founders set up checks & balances so no one branch of government could gang up on the people
Today, it can feel like all three branches are marching in step to push the same agenda, even when it hurts families and erodes our freedoms. I’m running to push back on that—asking hard questions, slowing things down when needed, and refusing to rubber‑stamp deals that put government power ahead of people. Our heritage of freedom deserves representatives who remember their job is to guard the Constitution, not go along just to get along.
I’ve watched public records requests get ignored or slow‑walked, and seen agencies work harder to hide information than to answer fair questions from the public. I’ve seen court clerks and commissioner judges issue orders that never should have been signed, and I’ve seen DCFS used like a weapon against good parents, separating them from their children without real due process. I’ve also seen public employees face retaliation for simply telling the truth.
That’s why I’m running on honest government. I don’t just want stronger transparency laws—I want those laws actually followed and enforced. As your senator, I will push for clear records, real accountability when the government breaks its own rules, and real protections for whistleblowers and families so the system serves the people instead of targeting them.
In a delegate‑driven system, you are not just a voter—you’re a guardian of our future
I’m asking you to hold the line with me against apathy, backroom deals, and career politicians who’ve forgotten who they serve.
If you’re a delegate, I want to earn your support face‑to‑face. Let’s talk about the issues that matter most to you and your precinct, and how we can stand together for our shared principles.
Get Involved:
- Host a neighborhood or precinct meeting
- Organize a “Hold the Line” night with friends and family
- Speak with undecided delegates and share why you’re on board
